This data set contains service request data from the 311 call center in Kansas City, MO. In March 2021, Kansas City began transitioning to a new record management system for 311 requests, and has created a new dataset published under the name 311 Call Center Reported Issues: https://data.kcmo.org/311/311-Call-Center-Reported-Issues/d4px-6rwg.

This dataset will continue to be updated as departments close service requests in the previous system and will be maintained as an archive dataset after the system is no longer in use.

This is the new 311 call center data from MyKCMO, which replaced PeopleSoft CRM on March 4th, 2021. Detailed work order data and resolution of requests may not be found in this system as this represents 311 requests only; for more information see those specific departments.

This dataset contains results from 311 customer surveys. Someone who calls 311 for an issue is sent a small survey after the City believes it has addressed the issue. Not everyone is surveyed, due to some calls being anonymous, or not being able to locate the requester's mailing address. Because the cards are physically mailed out there is a time delay between when a service request is closed and when the City is able to enter the survey results into our system. These surveys stopped being sent out as of 2020.

Results are provided on a 1-5 scale. 1 is unacceptable, 2 is poor, 3 is acceptable, 4 is good, 5 is excellent.

Multiple results per 311 case are possible due to multiple people requesting the same service for the same location. For example, if 10 people ask 311 to have the City repaint a crosswalk at 12th and Grand Street, each of them will be mailed a survey and the results will show in this dataset.

These surveys were no longer sent out as of 2020.

This shows reported tree damage within the City of Kansas City, MO related to the storms on July 14, 2023. There may be additional tree damage reported under other issue types that will be spotted and reassigned as necessary.
